PriMed Non-human Primate Model of Myocardial Ischemia
Myocardial ischemia is a heart condition caused by a temporary lack of oxygen-rich blood to the heart. More than 6 million Americans live with myocardial ischemia.
Myocardial ischemia or infarction models are usually induced by left anterior descending (LAD) ligation-reperfusion. Clinically relevant models of ischemia or infarction are needed for novel treatment studies.
At PriMed Shines, our spontaneous myocardial ischemia model correlates well with the changes in MRI features and cardiac enzymes.
