Primed Shines Co., Ltd, a leading science-driven, technologically advanced, high-quality preclinical research partner, will showcase their scientific expertise of ocular disease in nonhuman primates at this year’s meeting of association for research in vision and ophthalmology (ARVO) in Honolulu, United States on April 29 to May 3.

Primed has one abstract about ‍‍diabetic macular edema (DME) ‍‍has been accepted by ARVO, which is the research collaborated with‍‍ Dr. Krzysztof Palczewski and Dr. Timothy S. Kern for two years, who are professors of the Pharmacy Department at Case Western Reserve University.‍‍ The poster which will be presented at this meeting shows that spontaneous type 2 diabetes develop significant macular thickening within 7 years of diabetes, and so can serve as a pre-clinical model for studies related to early diabetic macular edema. 

The scientific poster will demonstrate the combined power of Primed’s integrated NHP ophthalmology platform which can promote new ocular drug evaluation using their various NHP ocular models and their advanced ocular technology, including OCT, confocal microscopy, tomography, electroretinography, etc.
